Why YOUR company needs Social Media NOW!
Have you ever wondered why there are Facebook and Twitter logos on many TV adverts for big corporations?
Well, this is all because many corporations and small businesses alike are now focusing their marketing efforts through social media platforms such as, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Linked In to name just a few. Many are finding this new form of marketing to be cheaper then other types of media marketing, and is extremely effective at building your company brand and presence.
Social Media Marketing must be approached very differently than traditional marketing. You are not selling your business, you are creating relationships through communities. If people feel you are part of their community, they will support you and recommend you to their friends. It is truly word-of-mouth marketing at its best.
Business use of social media, is already no longer an option, but a requirement, as your company is introduced to a whole new online community. People, potential customers, are connecting and talking about YOUR company weather or not you are listening, this is where social media comes into play.
This not just a new media, it’s a completely different world. Business models are changed forever. A whopping 81% of business executives state that social media marketing boosts their bottom line results and enhances their brand and business relationships.
When the internet first came about, not many people knew what it was or how to use it. But eventually internet was made cheap, quick and accessible, sparking a evolution in websites. Now every business has to have a website to be competitive, not just for advertising but for connecting with customers as well.
Social media is in this stage at the moment. it’s now more important than ever to have a presence on as many relevant platforms as possible, and to ‘get social’ by talking about and sharing media such as, articles, pictures, videos, news etc. If you don’t utilize all the social tools available your competitors will.

After we do our initial searches through the Google, we start looking for communities of like-minded people. Your best customers are the ones that are passionate and want to have a conversation about you, your product, or something related (news, pictures, whatever). You need to be there to have the conversation WITH your customers. Otherwise, they will have it behind your back.
Social media is a way to reliably disperse your message to a group of people who want to hear what you have to say. When you have something good to say – you TELL them through your selected channels. At a minimum, companies are becoming aware that they need to have conversations with their customers somehow.

Great points here. I think a lot of existing small business owners not starting up today are still on the fence about how important social media is.
Beyond merely convincing them that Facebook, Twitter, and blogging are important to their internet marketing mix, we need more voices like yours here pointing out that their focus needs to be on being human. That it’s about creating relationships in communities. That using traditional marketing tactics in social media may be counter productive.

Yea feel free to comment back anything extra you find. We are aware of some advanced techniques for building iframes, but we like this simple method.
The bottom panel of you site shows up all out of whack! i’m using Safari if it helps.

Well there are other more dated approaches to marketing such as any area of offline i.e. postal, telephone, billboards etc. Social media is a recent idea that can really help a business communicate with their customers and build relationships.
This is a great post. I’m a student at FIU and i am always looking for new info on Marketing. Even though I’m a Biology major, I’ve found that everyone has to know marketing because that’s the way you get places in life. If you know how to market oneself, then you can pretty much get something you like out of life. Thus, making this why I always try and get a read or two about marketing. Thanks again.
